Katherine Pennington MS (LCSW-S)
SOCIAL WORKER
“You don’t have to have it all figured out to begin healing—just a willingness to start.”
Katherine is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensed in Alabama, Kentucky, and Tennessee. She earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Kentucky and brings both professional expertise and lived experience into her work.
Once you meet Katherine, you’ll find she is easy-going, nonjudgmental, and relatable—a wife, mother, ADHD, plant-loving gal who believes therapy should feel human, not intimidating. While not a native of Alabama, she spent many childhood summers with her grandparents there and has strong personal ties to the region. Both of her parents served in the military for 30 years, and she is currently a military wife, giving her a deep understanding of military culture and the unique stressors faced by service members and their families.
Katherine specializes in treating anxiety, PTSD, trauma-related symptoms, depression, ADHD, and life transitions. While her primary focus is anxiety and trauma, she has extensive experience working with diverse populations and a wide range of stressors. Her goal is to help clients feel comfortable, understood, and at ease from the very first session.
As a trauma therapist, Katherine understands how overwhelming it can feel when the mind and body are carrying more than they should. She brings a trauma-informed, evidence-based approach to therapy, helping clients develop coping skills that actually work while exploring how trauma impacts both the brain and the body. She draws from multiple treatment modalities to ensure therapy is tailored to each individual’s needs, strengths, and goals.
You don’t have to navigate this alone. If you’re feeling unsure, stuck, exhausted, or simply ready for something to change, Katherine is here to walk alongside you through the process. When you’re ready, she would be honored to support you in taking the next step toward feeling more grounded, understood, and in control of your healing.
